Thanks to Armani, we spent a few days riding the waves off the coast of Sardinia—reflecting on the connection between timeless elegance and the world of sport
Sailing is a hybrid practice. At sea, thoughts flow as calmly—and as turbulently—as the currents beneath the hull. On one hand, it’s a discipline rooted in exploration, in pushing limits, and in cosmopolitan trade. On the other, it’s a modern sport—one that has become cultural tradition, technological frontier, and global competition. At the core of it all: the beauty of the experience, presence, natural purity… and elegance.
Boarding a Giorgio Armani–branded sailboat means stepping into the very essence of an art form that, in our case, continues to reflect the soul of sport. It’s a charming journey, where the allure of a global fashion icon—one deeply rooted in Italy’s boldest creative identity—unleashes its full evocative power. And its unmistakable contemporary class. It’s a story—the lyrical notes of an early summer song, carried on the breeze along the coast of Porto Cervo. In the lines of the Sørvind, as they blend into the water’s surface, becoming the perfect catwalk for the Giorgio Armani Mare collection. Clarity and stillness. Grace and coastal charm.
Armani and sailing. While some might call it a match made in heaven, we prefer to speak of a perfect programmatic and aesthetic symbiosis—one that envelops and mesmerizes. Like a captivating regatta. Like a piece of inspired design. Like the images captured during this sailing experience, which offered the iconic Italian brand a meaningful opportunity to highlight its connection with the One Ocean Foundation. In particular, Armani is supporting the foundation’s Blue Forest initiative, a marine reforestation project off the coast of Costa Smeralda. The project focuses on restoring 50 square meters of Posidonia, a vital underwater plant species, and contributes to the broader fight to preserve Sardinia’s rich and fragile marine biodiversity.
