Thanks to Briko, we had the privilege of meeting the 18-year-old Italian gold medalist who is captivating the international skiing world
The line between talent and vocation can often be incredibly thin. In the case of 18-year-old skier Giorgia Collomb, it is practically imperceptible. Raised on the snow-covered slopes of Aosta and, this season, making her debut among the adrenaline-fueled elite of international skiing, this promising Azzurra athlete and Briko ambassador compares her sport to air: a vital and essential substance.
Thanks to the Turin-based brand, we had the privilege of meeting this rising star of the slopes during a training session. A prodigy on the fast track, she’s already blazing through milestones and collecting impressive results, both in her youth career—highlighted by a gold medal in giant slalom, a silver in super combined, and a bronze in slalom at the 2024 Winter Youth Olympics in Gangwon—and in her early professional steps. She’s already scored points in the World Cup and made history by winning a groundbreaking gold medal in the the current World Championships in Saalbach. During this special occasion, we also created an exclusive video feature, part of the Briko ‘Sportsman by Vocation’ series.
Giorgia Collomb’s words reveal a level of maturity that aligns seamlessly with an already solid athletic awareness, built on sacrifice, admirable rationality, and ‘Crystal-made’ dreams.

What are the origins of your relationship with skiing?
“I come from La Thuile, a small town in the Aosta Valley, immersed in nature. I’ve always been a skier, or rather, I was put on skis right from the start. Living in a mountain area, everything revolves around the connection between skiing, sport, nature, and snow. My dad passed on his passion to me; he was my very first coach and has always supported me. I started with him, and it’s been a gradual progression that has led me to where I am now. The passion has stayed with me, and it still accompanies me today in every commitment with the National Team.”
What does this sport mean to you?
“For me, skiing is adrenaline, it’s life. When I put on my skis, I truly feel like myself. I can express everything I have inside just by having fun, doing what I love. Skiing is truly like air—it fuels me.”
Your journey and your rise as a young athlete have been dazzling, culminating in 3 medals at the 2024 Gangwon Youth Olympics. How have you experienced the various stages of your skiing evolution?
“As I mentioned, skiing has always been a part of my life. My growth has been early, yes, but from the very beginning, I knew exactly what I wanted. I felt a sort of vocation. Doubts never crossed my mind. When I was little, if anyone asked what I wanted to do with my life, I’d say I didn’t have a plan B. I wanted to make plan A work. Now, I’m enjoying the journey, savoring everything—especially the Youth Olympics in Korea… That was a huge step for my personal growth, not just as an athlete. I experienced a different world, different cultures… It will remain a significant part of my story and will stay with me forever.”

Looking back to your World Cup debut which took place in Sölden this year, what memories come to mind?
“The World Cup debut was one of the most emotional days of my life. You live for that moment—without even realizing it, you work for years thinking about those seconds. I had dreamed of that debut for so long, and I wasn’t entirely clear-headed. Everything felt so special. Racing in front of that kind of crowd is incredibly rewarding; it repays all the sacrifices made in life. I believe every athlete lives for moments like these, and every skier dreams of finally standing at the starting gate of the World Cup.”
Despite your young age, you’ve been connected to Briko for quite some time. What does this relationship mean to you?
“Being part of the Briko world is truly inspiring. I still remember, as a little girl, watching Lindsey Vonn dominate the slopes with a Briko helmet… I was in awe just seeing that queen. The synergy with Briko is an honor, because it makes me feel connected to the same brand that dressed my idols. It’s beautiful, especially because our relationship goes way back. Briko believed in me from the very beginning, like family, and now, step by step, we’re making progress together.”

Sportsman By Vocation. This Briko definition seems to fit your path perfectly. How does this vocation manifest in your life?
“For me, being a Sportsman By Vocation means freedom: waking up in the morning with a dream and doing everything to achieve it. Sacrifices, struggles… It’s all part of this kind of life—a life where you invest everything and you always rise again. There will be ups and downs. The beauty lies in fighting to make your dream a reality.”
After earning your first points in the World Cup circuit, what are your goals and, most importantly, the dream you’re chasing?
“My goal is always the same. I love progress. I want to take one step further every time, reach the end of each season, look back, and see many small steps that have contributed to my evolution. This is the goal that shapes each of my days. In the short term, it would obviously be great to finish the season with strong performances in the World Cup. But the main focus is on finding consistency to finish the season well and, next year, pick up where I left off. I always prioritize the personal journey over the results. My biggest dream, though, is to win the Crystal Globe and become a world champion.”
